How Do I Breath While Running?
Tips from Coach
Running can be very intimidating to a lot of people at first. One of my goals as a coach is to make sure our clients start out on the right foot so to speak.
#1 Desire to Learn to Run. Many clients are ready to take the challenge to run a 5k or more, as a coach that is very exciting. Learning to run is a journey; there is nothing more satisfying than watching someone’s life change because of running. "Running Changes Everything"
#2 Proper Fitting Shoes - NO EXCUSES Our feet are the foundation of our run, if we are wearing TEVA's it’s going to hurt!
#3 Good Form Running
We teach you how to run. Your running style can greatly improve your efficiency, lower your risk of injury, and increase your chances of actually enjoying yourself.
#4 Training Schedules that Gradually Build Your Mileage and Help Build Endurance
The focus is on gradually increasing distance during long run days and during the week we focus on form, pace, and endurance by: interval training, hills, track work, and rest/recovery.
#5 Encouragement and Accountability
The majority of our clients join because they want accountability. We use workoutlog.com, which is an online program that lets you be in touch with your coach 24/7. Your workout is accessible to you online at any time. There you can log your workouts daily and is a great tool as a gentle reminder of your progress. Our retention rate with workoutlog.com is 100%. Our clients are also able to download from Nike plus to Garmin.
Encouragement is a great motivator and one way we do this is to provide you with the most supportive environment. Our coaching staff and mentors have all been through the training, they know exactly what you need to reach that finish line.
At the end of your training you will: reach that finish line and develop lasting friendships.
